Cory finished the 40 mile bicycle race in 1.8 hours. Lamar finished before Cory. Write the inequality that describes Lamar's speed for the race. Let x=Lamar's speed. Round your answer to tenths and type your answer with no spaces.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Cory's speed = (d)istance / (t)ime = n Lamar's speed = x > n To find Cory's speed, fill in the distance and the time in the above formula. Simplify. That will be "n".

alright thanks

uw! Good luck to you in all of your studies and thx for the recognition! @Kidkush24

im still unsure on how to find the inequality

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Since Lamar finished before Cory, his speed is greater since he finished with taking less time. The denominator for Lamar's speed, which is time, is smaller than the corresponding time for Cory. Since Lamar's denominator is smaller, the speed is greater. @kidkush24
