I dont get why school is so important its not like we are going to remember half the stuff we do know

It's actually amazing how much of it comes back randomly when you need it. Plus doing good in school doesn't just show employers that you know something, it also shows them that you have good teamwork and can commit (and finish) projects. ;o)

I always felt that school was there so some students would hopefully get interested enough in a subject were it would benefit the nation. That a country would have the next great scientist, inventor, or doctor that will greatly benefit society.

Everyone else can work for the benefit of the economy. Having a basic education would at least teach citizens to make smart decisions when it comes to jobs and economic choices. Later, they could help their children make even better decisions and hopefully improve each generation.

Doesn't always feel like it's going that way though.

It teaches you how the real world is. We use math in the store and on some of our jobs. We use grammer in job applications or documents. We use the computer alot. We have to speak certain languages to certain people.
