7x - 4 > 31 and 7x - 4 >= 59

@ganeshie8

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

wat you wanto do, solve the system of inequalities ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

first see the lines, they are special. whats special about them ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what lines??

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

wait

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

sorry i misread the inequalites wrongly. pls disregard watever i said before

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

this is a simple problem

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

7x - 4 > 31 and 7x - 4 >= 59 7x > 35 and 7x > 63 x > 5 and x > 9 x > 9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so what do u do with x> 5

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

x > 5 doesnt work. cuz the other one is more stringent

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

oly x > 9 is the solution

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do u mean by stringent

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

when you get x > 5, and x > 9, in the end. you need to take the one that satisfies both

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

like if u take x > 5, then for x = 6, 7 and 8, it fails for x > 9 solution

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

where as if you take x > 9, it satisfies both x > 5 and x > 9 conditions

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

does that make any sense

OpenStudy (anonymous):

kinda

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

okie good :) the idea is this :- the solution you pick must satisfy all conditions
