How can an island rule a continent?  If all men are created equal, and the only thing that seperates men are different god given abilities, why should the ruler of men be chosen by something as arbitrary as birth?  Nature shows that monarchies are evil, evidence was cited from history and from the Bible.

England stationed British soldiers in the colonies because there had been growing tension in the colonies over British taxes (Stamp Act, Tea Act, Sugar Act, Townshed Acts). Britain wanted to make sure that the colonies remained under control.  hope that helps
