what is the quotient of 2 5/6 divided by 2/3 in simlpest form

OpenStudy (irishboy123):

first put the first number as a rational ie 17/6 get that? then do the following multiplication 17/6 * 3/2 note the 2/3 is inverted. the easiest way to divide a farction into another is to invert it and multiply. does that work for you?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i still dont get it

OpenStudy (irishboy123):

i don't have the actual question before me but i am assuming that you are required to divide 2 5/6 by 2/3 the way to do that is to multiply 2 5/6 by 3/2 first, however, you need to express 2 5/6 as a proper fraction - (2*6 + 5)/6 = 17/6.
