I have an answer. I need someone to double-check my work. Question: 3/1-√2 Work: Multiply by (1+√2) to get 3+3√2/1-2. Simplify that to: 3+3√2/-1 Does that also get simplified to -3-3√2 because of the negative in the denominator?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

-3-3√2 is the correct final answer

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

and yes, when you have (3+3√2)/(-1) you would divide each piece in the numerator by -1 to simplify fully

Thank you, @jim_thompson5910 !
