When I download the Python compiler I find it in the zip application and I cannot see an icon. Can you help me download it properly?

is the link from a trusted source? I use Pyscripter : http://code.google.com/p/pyscripter/downloads/list Use that link and try it.

Or download the installer version. The zip is for manual installs. An installer is a far better choice if you do not know how to do manual installs.
