OpenStudy (hunus):
In Wheelocks's Latin he says that a short 'o' is pronounced like the o in off and that the long ō is pronounced like the o in clover. If this is so, then why do you pronounce moneō 'm oh nay oh' instead of 'mah nay oh' ?
