In which of these samples do the atoms have the least kinetic energy? bromine gas (75°C) bromine gas (60°C) liquid bromine (45°C) liquid bromine (10°C)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think it's Bromine Gas at 75 degrees.

how do you know? :) just wondering

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, gases have more kinetic energy than liquids which is why they move about so easily (Kinetic energy is measured by the amount of motion). And higher the temperature, more will be the energy supplied in form of heat, which will increase the motion of the molecules as they absorb more energy ;) Thermodynamics.
