Who makes a better leader: someone who is loved, or someone who is feared? I chose loved but now i am stuck trying to explain why please help i need ideas

Okay so obviously a person who is loved will be a better leader,Because people love him and he will try his best to help and lift the country to sky..?

i understand but what makes them a better leader. so far i came up with earned their respect, has knowledge

Devoted is a good one i'll use that as the last point on why the loved leader is better than the feared
