OpenStudy (mathisfun13):

A triangle has points A (2,3) B (2,6) and C (7,3) and is reflected over the x-axis and then over the line y=x. A''B''C'' are the coordinates of the reflected image. What is the A'' coordinate?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

To start off, you should draw a triangle with those coordinates

OpenStudy (mathisfun13):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Did you already graph the triangle?

OpenStudy (mathisfun13):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright, so once you have graphed the points, go ahead and graph the reflection of the triangle. The distance between the points on both sides of the x axis should be the same difference from the point to the x axis

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(x;y)___>(x;-y)---->>(-y;x)

OpenStudy (mathisfun13):

so (2,-3)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is that one of your options?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i tink its (-3,2)

OpenStudy (mathisfun13):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

great :)
