Only way to make a sum of 3 is to get 1,2 or 2,1. Similarly, only way to make 11 is to roll 5,6 or 6,5. Hence there is 4 possibilities. The total number of possibilities of what you can roll on the two dice is 6 x 6 = 36. So the probability of the rolled numbers to add to 3 or 11 would be 4/36 = 1/9. @jslp3z
