I have to take one math remedial class in community college and I am planning to transfer to a university. Does it stop me from going to a university. I want to become a lawyer.

It shouldn't have any major effect.

you should check to see if the class is going to be transferred or not, and if it isn't then to the best of my knowledge it shouldn't cause any problems.

It will not hurt your chances of going to a university. In fact, it may help you. Taking the remedial class will better prepare you for the college-level course material you will find at the university. Taking the remedial class first is better than skipping it and failing your first semester (or one of your first classes) at the university.
