jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

There are 2 rows and 4 columns, so it's a 2x4 matrix

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

if you have m rows and n columns, then you will have an m x n matrix

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Aww... jim already answered.... and here I thought I was gonna get to make a matrix in \(\LaTeX\)

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

you can go ahead, no such thing as too many answers

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you both for your help!!!

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

you're welcome

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Well, you covered the cola solution... RC, Rows by Columns. But here is the original in \(\LaTeX\). Right click the code and go to Show math As \(\rightarrow\)TeX Commands if you want to know what I put between \(\backslash\)[ and ]\ to get that. \[\left[ \begin{matrix}9 & 1& -2& 8\\ 0& -3& 1& 4 \end{matrix} \right]\] have fun witht he matices!
