When writing a MLA research paper is it appropriate to use Roman numbers ie. Title VII? also, when there is no author and how to cite do you put the title of the book or journal in parenthesis? or italicizes? and is appropriate if authors have same last name and are Drs. would I cite them as Drs. ZZ or use first initial and last name?
You can use roman numerals in a research paper outline but not inside the test. if there is no author, then you will cite your work as (from pp. 170–171 of the Publication Manual). Then if it's in-text citations, then just do the page number. http://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/747/2/ For Print sources like books, magazines, scholarly journal articles, and newspapers, provide a signal word or phrase (usually the author’s last name) and a page number. If you provide the signal word/phrase in the sentence, you do not need to include it in the parenthetical citation.
