Can someone help please im confused. [6.02] For the following system, if you isolated x in the second equation to use the Substitution Method, what expression would you substitute into the first equation? 3x + y = 8 -x - 2y = -10 -2y + 10 2y + 10 2y - 10 -2y - 10

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Did you isolate x in the second equation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (mertsj):

What did you get?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

when i isolated it i got 3y = 2 i did elimination

OpenStudy (mertsj):

If you isolate x you should get an equation that says x= something. What did you get?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh i may see what i did wrong

OpenStudy (mertsj):

1. Add 2y to both sides 2. Multiply both sides by -1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thanks

OpenStudy (mertsj):
