Can anyone please explain how to solve this?

Any ideas?

Surely \(\angle ABC=\angle ABD+\angle CBD\), right? Substitute in your expressions and solve for \(x\).

from the screenshot we have m(abd +cbd) = m(abc) =8x+5-3+2x = 62. or, x=6. So, answer is C.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

We have : \[m(ABD)+m(DBC)=m(ABC)\] So : \[8x-3+2x+5=62\] So : \[10x+2=62\] So : \[10x=62-2=60\] So : \[x=\frac{60}{10}=6\] So : \[m(ABD)=2\times6+5=17\\ m(DBC)=8\times6-3=45\]
