OpenStudy (anonymous):
A linking verb is usually any form of "to be" such as "is, are, being, be," etc. It links the subject to the action. It's a way to describe something. Example: The pizza is ready. "IS" is the linking verb, both in the pizza example, and in this sentence. :)
