Expanding and simplifying sequences

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\sum_{k=0}^{5}2k \]

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

what you do is plug in k = 0, k = 1, k = 2... all the way up to k = 5 so... k = 0 ---> 2k = 2*0 = 0 k = 1 ---> 2k = 2*1 = 2 ... ... k = 5 ---> 2k = 2*5 = 10 then you add up all those results

Okay. Thank you!
