Which measure of central tendency best describes this data set? fifty-two, fifty-eight, fifty-three, fifty-seven, ninety-one Mean Median Mode Range
WHat do you think would be the best answer here? I'd go with median, since that outlier number 91 would throw off any mean measurement, and there aren't any repeating numbers, etc.
Do you think you can help me with this too? Without using a calculator, determine which measure of central tendency is the greatest for the following set of data? 3, 5, 2, 7, 7, 1, twenty, 7 Range Median Mean Mode
@Endo
Do you have a good understanding of what each of these measures of central tendency are? Range is the count from lowest to the highest number in your set, median is the one item that lands in the center of your set, mean is the average of the numbers in your set, and mode is the number that occurs the most often.
So which one of these options gives you the biggest number?
okay i would say its the mode because 7 is used 3 times
wait the biggest number hold on
i would say mean
Good idea ... the mean would be higher than the mode. BUT, wouldn't there be one even larger than the mean? Think about the range, what would it be?
okay hold on..
it would be range because if you add the numbers up 20 + 1 = 21 and none of the other ones are that high
is that right? is it the range?
I believe that is correct. The range would give you the greatest value.
