At our school, 2 out of 3 students is involved in an after school activity. How many of the 600 students are in an after school activity at our school?

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

Okay. So 2/3 of the total student's population is involved in an after school activity. So if there is 600 students in total, then how many students are in an after school activity? You can use a proportion to solve this. \[\large \large \frac{ 2 }{ 3 } = \frac{ x }{ 600 }\] The numerator represent the amount of student doing the activity, while the denonimator represent the total student's population. Do you know how to solve a proportion?

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

This is how you solve a proportion: |dw:1371432170140:dw| I hope this help! :)
