The title of your Venn diagram is your universal set. Give your universal set a name and description. Circle A is set A, and circle B is set B. Find A U B and explain what that number represents. Find A(upside down U)B and explain what that number represents. Find A′ and B′and explain what that number represents. okay first of all.. the universal set is the set from which all the numbers you will be using to populate your sets can be found. Lets say Your uiversal set is all numbers between1 and 10 so we now have 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,and 10. lets now say that from this universal set we make two sets ..
Set A{consists all even numbers between 1 and 10} - Set A{2,4,6,8,10}
Set B {contains all odd numbers between 1 and 10} - Set B {1,3,5,7,9}

Now A U B is read as [A union B] this means you need to list all the numbers that are found in A and also B Which in this case would be your universal set So you can re-list that as your answer

A U B {1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10}
Now the upside down U that you are talking about means intersection

A ( B is read as A intersect B this would include all the numbers that are found in A and ALSO B .. In this case however, would be none since there are no numbers that are even and also odd

so A intersect B would be and empty set written as {} or

A' means all the numbers that are nt fund in the set A which would be set B
therefore A' {1,3,5,7,9}

where B' can be found by applying the same concept
