you would solve for x basically... so if x=2 the equation would be (x-2) like wise, it would be (x+4) Now for the 1+3i, you can see that it is imaginary, and those numbers only come in conjugates, or pairs. so you must have 1-3i. Then you take it all and multiply to form an equation. (x+4)(x-2)(x-(1+3i))(x-(1-3i))
