help me please

OpenStudy (anonymous):

with what?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Given 1 = 123° and 8 = 7 z + 11. What is the value of z , if lines a and b are parallel?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

where is z?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I forgot how I would work this out :p

OpenStudy (anonymous):

8 cannot be equal to 7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know how to work out the angles, but there is no angle called z in the picture.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know its asking to figure out what z is in the equation and see how it would go into the angles

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you mean that 8=7 times z+11 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If yes, is z= 11 in parentheses or not?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes i get it now i feel smart ha-ha, have to figure out what z is using normal algebra the i guess it should equal what one is because if the line are parallel and you look at the picture , the answer should equal one which is 123°

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so z+11 IS in parentheses or NOT?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its not

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok I think I've got it then:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what did you get? im pretty sure it would be 16 right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yup that's what I got:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok :3 thank you for helping me much appreciated
