At the third floor, 1 passenger leaves, and 3 passengers get on. At the sixth floor, 1 passenger leaves, and 2 passengers get on. The elevator then starts its journey back down the shaft. At the fifth floor, 1 passenger leaves. At the second floor, 2 passengers leave, and 3 get on. How many passengers are on the elevator when it reaches the first floor? A. 4 B. 5 C. 9 D. 10
