The opinions of Bartolome de Las Casas were influential in alerting Europeans to the treatment of Native Americans. Write a 400-word speech from the viewpoint of Las Casas explaining his opinions and how they affected attitudes in Europe. Use at least two sources beyond the course content.

Try starting with an outline, as if you're writing an essay. When you write an essay you have an intro, body and conclusion. It's the same with a speech. Figure out at least 3 main points you'd like to discuss (perhaps 3 of his opinions), then build off of that (of course make sure it all some how ties in with one another). Between each main point, have a transition so that the flow of the speech will be smooth. For the intro, you sort of preview what your speech will be about. Have a good attention grabber so that your audience will be interested in hearing more. Make sure it's related to the topic of course. At the end of the intro add a thesis statement. For the conclusion, basically review what you talked about in your speech so that it will remind your audience what you just talked about. Your entire speech should flow smoothly, so when you're done writing it, maybe practice in front of a few people and see what feedback they have to give you.
