Is German a hard language to fully learn andunderstand in High School?
Generally Latin based languages are easier to learn so it would be the equivalent of learning spanish or french. Harder languages to learn would be Japanese, Mandarin, or Russian. I would encourage you, however, to learn Spanish if you haven't already. Then perhaps to learn Japanese as these are the languages that will be important for business and general communications.
If your mother language is English and if you understand its grammar, then German should not be too difficult. German has been less latinized than English and has retained some special syntax, in word order for instance.
It isn't so hard, the verbs were hardest for me to learn personally. However, German is harder for people than Spanish or something usually taught in high school.
If you want to give a try before you take on a full class course I suggest you go to Duolingo.com. They teach it absolutely free and in a way that's pretty easy to understand. Glück!
