Which of the following situations cannot be modeled with the equation 3x + 4y = 34? A.3 kids’ meals and 4 adult meals totaled to $34. B.A collection of $3 baseball cards and $4 baseball cards is valued at $34. C.A drawer contains 34 buttons, 3 of which are red and 4 of which are blue. D.Cindy worked as a restaurant greeter for 3 hours and as a cashier for 4 hours for a total earnings of $34. Each job has a different rate of pay.

you need to understand what the variables are in each situation and if they are the same as the equation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so would it be D. then

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what are the variables in d?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well 3x would be the number of hours she was as a restaurant greeter and 4y would be the number of hours she was working as a cashier resulting in hr making 34 dollars . so am i right then ? wouldnt it be D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3 is the amount of hours one worked and x is the pay per hour which we dont know that's why it is a variable. 4 hours she worked in a diff position with a different pay rate so it would be a different variable. and it is saying that in total she got 34$ does that sound like the equation?
