Given that IJKL is a square, find x & y. (PLEASE ANY HELP:)

|dw:1371532994740:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a) x=2, y=8 b) x=8, y=2 c) x=43, y=2 d) x=2, y=43

OpenStudy (anonymous):

since all the sides a equal in a square, 2x+4=3y+8=5y+4. first, find the value of y. 3y+8=5y+4=>2y=4=>y=2 substitute the value of y in 2x+4=3y+8 =>2x+4=3(2)+8 =>2x+4=14=>2x=10=> x=5.

so my answer is b or c??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x=5 and y=2.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x=5 isnt one of my options. i think theres a mistake somewhere.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a) x=2, y=8 b) x=8, y=2 c) x=43, y=2 d) x=2, y=43 Here are my options.

And ive checked my work twice. No numbers are out of order or misplaced.

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

2x + 4 = 90 solve x

OpenStudy (anonymous):
