what is gas?

OpenStudy (irishboy123):

generically, gas one of the states of matter, the others being solid and liquid - and plasma (basically charged gas). water can be frozen solid, it occurs most naturally as a liquid in the oceans, or it can be vaporised into gas by boiling. i think that if you heat water vapour enough, it becomes plasma - like a gas but with chemical bonding broken and lots of charged particles. you might however be referring to gas as in the fuel that powers cars etc.

Yes Gas is one of the states of matter but gas is different from vapours which is gaseous state of anything which is not gas at room tempreature.
