i just put the fractions up

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

LCD of 6, 12 and 18 Two ways: 1) make list of multiples 2) factoring 1) make list of multiples 6: 6 12 18 24 30 36 12: 12 24 36 18: 18 36 36 is the first number that appears in all 3 lists 2) factoring write each number as a product of its factors 6: 2*3 12: 2*2*3 = 2^2*3 18: 2*3*3 = 2*3^3 construct the LCD by taking the highest power of each unique factor encountered 2^2*3^3 = 4*9=36

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

So, multiply 1/6 by 6/6 to put it over a denominator of 36. Multiply 5/12 by 3/3 to put it over a denominator of 36. Multiply 11/18 by 2/2 to put it over a denominator of 36.
