True or False? To solve by elimination x + 2y = -1 4x + 3y = -9 You would first multiply x + 2y = -1 by -4 then add the two equations eliminating the x variable. -4x - 8y = 4 4x + 3y = -9

That would be a reasonable approach, yes, but not the only way you could eliminate a variable.
