Find an equation of the tangent line to the graph of f at the given point. Function g(x) = 1.7x + ex point (0, 1)

OpenStudy (ivancsc1996):

Well the the tangent line has this form:\[y=mx+b\]Where m is the slope and b a constant. To find m you just need to derivate the function a x=0.\[m=g'(x)=1.7+e\]Then, to find b you just need to replace x with zero and y with 1 on our first equation, since the tangent line goes through that point.\[1=(1.7+e)0+b \rightarrow b=1\]So the equation is:\[y=(1.7-e)x+1\]
