Can someone tell me what an outlier is and how it affect your data? Thanks!

an outlier is something that doesnt follow the pattern of your data for instance, if i was to list 10 different numbers: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9, 100000 notice (most) of the numbers are clumped fairly close together. except for 100000, it is way bigger than any of the other numbers

meaning it is an "outlier", or something that doesnt exactly fit in with your data so the consequence of that is your data will be more inaccurate/less exact
