Solve this system of equations using the addition method. 2x + 5y = 0 x - 5y = -15

OpenStudy (amistre64):

edit*** well, since +5y and -5y add to 0y you might want to start by simply adding down the columns

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont get u

OpenStudy (amistre64):

then you might want to re read over what the addition method is.

OpenStudy (ivancsc1996):

For the addition method you need to add both equations in such a way the on of the variable cancels. For example:|dw:1371660500302:dw|Therefore x=-5. Then you substitute that value for x in one of the equations and get y. y should be 2
