4a2 - 8a - 5 HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!

OpenStudy (bakonloverk):

is it 4a squared?

mathslover (mathslover):

Do you want to factorize it?

OpenStudy (ivancsc1996):

You cant solve if you don't have an equality.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes it is @bakonloverk

mathslover (mathslover):

@juliesandovaljimenez , you wanna factorize it ?

OpenStudy (bakonloverk):

then do 4a*4a and then add it to 8a and subtract tht by 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes @mathslover

mathslover (mathslover):

\(4a^2 - 8a - 5 = 4a^2 + 2a - 10a - 5\) \(2a(2a + 1) - 5(2a + 1)\) \((2a+1)(2a-5)\)

mathslover (mathslover):

This method is known as "Mid-term splitting method" ... I splitted -8a into 2a - 10a ... and then factorized it.

mathslover (mathslover):

Did it help @juliesandovaljimenez ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes thank you @mathslover

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@mathslover i nedd help with this other problem... ok

mathslover (mathslover):
