Can someone tell me what the four measures of central tendency are and what they mean? Thanks!

OpenStudy (amistre64):

your material should have covered this, so the best thing to do is to simply tell us what you remember them as. And then we can correct any errors along the way.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

i only recall 3 measures, so if there is a 4th one, it might be more author dependant

OpenStudy (amistre64):

ah, midrange is the one i was not familiar with .... since its never really used as a true measure of central tendency in any of the stats if done

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I dont know what they are . but well i thought they were Mean , Median , range , and mode ?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

mean, median, mode, and midrange are in my stats book

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh Midrange not range lol

OpenStudy (amistre64):

mean is the average of all the data points midrange is just the average of the lowest and highest data points (average of the extremes) mode is the number that comes up the most often in the set and the median is the number that is positionally in the middle of the set

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ah! Thanks =^u^= I had forgotten !

OpenStudy (amistre64):
