A ramp that is 12 feet long is used to reach a doorway that is 3.5 feet above the level ground. Find, to the nearest degree the measure of the angle that the ramp makes with the ground.
From the top of a building that is 56 feet high the angle of depression to the base of an adjacent building is 72 degrees. Find to the nearest foot the distance between the buildings.
You can use your trig identities, SOH, CAH, TOA, and a good drawing to solve both of these problems.
I tried but I am not sure if I'm right.
I got 16 degrees for the first problem
For the first one I got 16.95, which I would argue is 17.
How?
\(\arcsin{\frac{3.5}{12}}\)
Oh, I put 3.5 over 12. instead. Okay, give me a moment to try and workout the next
Why is it 3.5 over 12? Did I draw it wrong or am I doing sohcashtoa wrong? |dw:1371690982205:dw|
