It is useful to convert the form of the equation to the slope-intercept equation for a line: y <= -4x + 8 Once you do that you will see a y-intercept at 8 and the slope going off to the left:|dw:1371687055637:dw| That's the line only in the graph. Since you have "<=" you will have SOLID line and now when you test the origin, the point (0, 0), you will see that it fulfills the requirements of the inequality, so the origin area is shaded.
