OpenStudy (thesecret20111):

How do you remember graph transformations? For instance: f(x)+c will shift the graph of f(x) upward c units. Anyone have any tips?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

shift f(x) up k units: f(x)+k shift f(x) down k units: f(x)-k shift f(x) h units to the right: f(x-h) shift f(x) h units to the left: f(x+h) stretch/compress by a factor of c: c*f(x)

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

vertical stretch/compress by a factor of c: is c*f(x) horizontal stretch/compress by a factor of c is f(c*x)
