All it wants you to do is put arctan(1.1918) into a calculator to get A (rember arctan(tan(a))=a) so you get 50.00 degrees.

arctan will be the inverse operation of the tan function. it is also written as $$ tan^{-1}(x) $$ I would check your notes as there is no other way of solving this without using arctan so you would have to know it.
