OpenStudy (anonymous):

can someone help me factor y=x^2-8x+9 ?

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

you need 2 numbers whose product is + 9 and sum = -8 - there are no intergers which fit this requirement so there are no factors

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

I think you need the general quadratic formula as it doesn't factor

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

it just means you are working with irrational numbers

(X-4)^2-16+9 (X-4)^2-√7^2
