Which of the following points lie in the solution set to the following system of inequalities? y > -3x + 3 y > x + 2 a (2, -5) b (-2, 5) c (2, 5) d (-2, -5)

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

check the points example: does (2,-5) make sense? x = 2, and y=-5 we have y>-3x+3 and y>x+2 so -5>-3*2+3? ---> -5>-3? this tells us already there is a problem with the first point...so we move on to the next. understand?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you just need to put each point into inequalities to see which point fits both of them

thank you :-)
