The colonists in the 13 colonies, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Georgia, Connecticut, Massachusetts Bay, Maryland, South Carolina, New Hampshire, Virginia, New York, North Carolina, and Rhode Island and Providence Plantations. Brtitain set up a system of marcantilism, where they a) took natural resources from the colonies b) made the people of the colonies then buy back the finsished products c) prohibited trade from anywhere besides the mothe country (Britian) Also Britain had war debt, and a LOT of it, so they decided to set up taxes sucha s te townshend acts, stamp act of 1765 and tea act, where they charged heavy taxes on the listed products. This what cause the Boston Tea Party which you probably heard of where the colonists dumped the British's tea in the harbor, protesting purchase of tea.
