Write an equation of a line that is perpendicular to the given line and that passes through the given point 2x+4y=-6;(2,5) A.)y=(1/2x)-8 B.)y=(1/2x)+1 C.)y=2x+1 D.)y=-2x+1

OpenStudy (aykayyy):

put the equation into slope-intercept form... get the m from it. then use the formula y−y1=m(x−x1) and solve and then put it into slope form

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i did but i got c..@aykayyy

OpenStudy (aykayyy):

dont forget to take your m and do the opposite reciprocal... you do this because the lines are not parallel but perpendicular
