Which of the following happens when infected body cells are detected during a cell-mediated immune response?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Helper T cells divide and activate cytotoxic T cells, which destroy the infected cells. Memory T cells divide and form helper T cells, which destroy the infected cells. B lymphocytes divide and activate memory B cells, which destroy the infected cells. Memory B cells divide and form plasma cells, which destroy the infected cells.

Do you have any idea? It's not fun to just give the answer :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think its the first one..... I have no idea

thomaster (thomaster):

Do you know what Helper T-cells do?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

*No

thomaster (thomaster):

They release Tcell cytokines when infected body cells are detected. These cytokines activate other immune cells like T-killer cells

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So its not the first or second one?

thomaster (thomaster):

T-killer is the same as cytotoxic T cells :)

thomaster (thomaster):

T-killer cells kill, as the name says

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is it the first one??

thomaster (thomaster):

Yea, the infected cells are detected, the T helper cells release the Tcell cytokines to activate the T-killer cells, which destroy the infected cells

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks

thomaster (thomaster):

No problem :)
