16. Love, ambition, greed, religious faith—these are some of the human emotions that motivate characters and help explain their personalities and behavior. Choose a character who came alive for you in your readings so far this year. Write an essay in which you examine that character’s personality and motivation and show what the character’s behavior and attitudes reveal about human nature. Begin with an introductory paragraph that captures your reader’s attention and includes a thesis statement that states your view of the character. Then, in the body of your essay, show how details in the work convey the character’s personality and motives. End with a concluding paragraph that sums up your main ideas about the character. I suppose I choose Macbeth from Shakespeare
That is an excellent choice, Alayna - but now, how should we go on with the next part of your question - what do you have to say about the personality traits of Lady Macbeth?
I think Lady Macbeth is cruel, selfish, manipulative, evil, clever, greedy, crazy
Which actions of her play do you think portray these - this is how you need to structure your answer in an essay format. Can you continue now?
I don't quite understand what you mean? I've had a lot of trouble understanding literature and what not
should I start out like this? Lady Macbeth, was a cruel and atrocious individual. She played a very small, but very important character in this play.
Hmm, okay. So, read the question statement slowly, carefully - and take it easy.
was that a good start to an introductory paragraph?
That is not bad - except she didn't really have a small role - c'mon the whole play is named after her! :p Okay so. How would you continue? Explain these traits from the play!
wait there is Macbeth and then there is Lady Macbeth
which one is easier to write about?
I'm not very good at writing stuff like this, :/
Lady Macbeth is the character, in Shakespeare's play called 'Macbeth'. Needless to say, he named it after the key character in his story.
I am sorry, I won't do that! :P C'mon, you can atleast try! Imagine the cruel lady and write whatever comes to your mind.
I didn't even read the full play because it's so boring and long lol! I don't understand poetry, plays, any literature
im doing the same thing
