need help with 3 problems >.< i'll post the pic in a bit

OpenStudy (anonymous):

29, 33, and 37 are the problems i need help with

OpenStudy (anonymous):

draw a triangle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1371964464916:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay

OpenStudy (anonymous):

apply SOH CAH TOA sin t = opp/hyp cos t= adj/hyp tan t = opp/adj

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that i know but how do i figure it out. like is 3/5 is adj?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

think of it as a coordinate plane

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so no v.v

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1371964928306:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1371964979685:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so applying it to 29 adj = 3/5 opp = 4/5 you can determine hyp by using pythagorean theorem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think thats how you solve the problem, im unfamiliar with the terminology used with the problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what about the sin, cos, tan?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well, you're already given 2 sides of the triangle, you can use Pythagorean theorem to determine the third side of the triangle and you can use SOH CAH TOA to determine sin t cos t tan t

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just scroll up a bit, i gave you the equations

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you show me an example?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ex. (3,4) |dw:1371965316918:dw| Pythagorean theorem \[a^2 +b^2 = c^2\] |dw:1371965371682:dw| hyp = 5 |dw:1371965395817:dw| opp = 4 adj = 3 sin t = 4/5 cos t = 3/5 tan t =4/3
