Determine the type of boundary line and shading for the graph of the inequality y > 2x + 4 Dashed line with shading on the side that includes the origin. Solid line with shading on the side that does not include the origin. Dashed line with shading on the side that does not include the origin. Solid line with shading on the side that includes the origin.

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

again, there is no = sign in the given inequality. So, wat kindof line it wud be ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a dashed i understand that part but not how to find the origin @ganeshie8

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

good :) for the origin, we plugin x=0, y=0

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

y > 2x + 4 0 > 2(0) + 4 0 > 0 + 4 0 > 4 FALSE

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

0 is never greater than 4. everybody knows that eh ? since we got a false thing when we plugin x=0, y=0, shading doesnot include origin.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So if its a true equation it would include the origin? @ganeshie8

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

Yes. if its a true **shading** includes the origin also.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you so much (: @ganeshie8

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

np you're wlcme :)
