I have completed week 1 work, what do I do next and how do I get credit?
week 1 work for which course? this group is being used by MIT OCW 6.00 2008, 6.00sc 2011, Mechanical MOOC (which uses content from those), and occasionally EDx 6.00 (which is similar to the 2011 course)
the Mechanical MOOC A Gentle Introduction to Python. Complete sections 1.1 – 1.4 from Handout 1 of 6.189 A Gentle Introduction to Computer Science and Complete sections 1.9 – 1.12 from Written Exercises 1 of 6.189 A Gentle Introduction to Computer Science.
I think you could just share your results for peer review/assessment via Github or Pastebin for instance.
Bien usted ha cumplido con la tarea de la semana, sin embargo, ahora debe colaborar resolviendo las dudas y preguntas de las personas que desarrollan el curso para obtener puntos. Well you have accomplished the task of the week, but now must work resolving the doubts and questions of the people who develop the course to get points.
At this point, MOOCs are largely not about credit. They are about generating skills you can demonstrate or personal enrichment. Credit is something that MOOC proponents are still struggling with. A very small number of MOOC offerings are now being done as credit courses of one sort or another. This is always stated up front and very clearly. Whereas the MechMOOC is pretty clear about the fact that this is a custom offering that uses multiple sources in an effort to generate a more enriching environment by putting people in a situation where they have peers they can communicate with.
